Sometimes the high point values of certain foods catch you off-guard–especially when said foods appears to be on the lighter side. Here are a few foods I’ve come across recently whose point values have surprised me.
Tossed Honey Sesame Dressing: 10 PointsPlus® for salad portion, which isn’t large. (I used it as sparingly as I could and I used half). Typically even creamy salad dressing has about 4 PointsPlus® for two tablespoons. Tossed does have lighter options, but this is the one that comes with the oh-so-delicious Asian Chicken salad.
San Pellegrino: 4 PointsPlus® for an 11 oz. can. What? I thought it was soda water at first! Glad I didn’t drink it.
Au Bon Pain Turkey Chili: 6 PointsPlus®. I realize this isn’t too bad, but their beef chili is actually a point less. I like to pour it over a side salad. Voila: lunch! (Confession: I typically eat an apple before I head there—or any restaurant really—so I’m not starving when I walk in the door.)
